i put this track in another thread when it was only on a facebook video, maybe it was the afrohouse one, but now it's finally been released
love Zvri's stuff. he seems to work with Omagoqa sometimes, they've got a banging recent EP
the youtube algo also gave me this
the gqom that's coming out now is like 100x more up my street than when i first heard the genre. think it's the sparseness, added weird FX and the fact they've got rid of some of the more melodic drones

i heard it around so much i got a bit sick of it tbh. definitely more amapiano than gqom yes, but obviously there's bound to be overlap

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA i've never used tiktok, but it warms my heart to know there are loads of other people out there who appreciate U WANNA BAMBA as much as i do! (also kind of explains why a local nigerian restaurant was using it in a snail advertisement they posted to instagram awhile ago, which is how i first heard it)
Yeah there's the thing where gqom plays at the end of the party when all the boring people are starting to go home.
uMsaiipho Soul is quite hit and miss but when he gets it right he nails a bit of a gqomapiano sweet spot
