stumbled upon this mix and noticed vocals seem to have gotten more prominent in gqom, i like it a lot.

yeah this is the best... there's actually a mad story about this track

Raybel's original inst was a big viral hit too () before it got the Maphorisa treatment... (ie buying a big club track for nothing, sticking vocals on the top, taking all the credit/publishing...)

this is a new one from Que (from Distruction Boyz) EP currently tearing up SA -- listen to how fucking HARD it is... interesting evolution from Omunye a few years ago

featuring gqom/new kwaito royalty, Mampintsha (from Big Nuz) and Babes Wodumo

ah i didn't know about that. i think it's what i was trying to say with this:

stumbled upon this mix and noticed vocals seem to have gotten more prominent in gqom, i like it a lot.

i hadn't checked any new stuff for a long time and it all feels a bit more smoother, more pop, accessible to a bigger audience. not necessarily a bad thing.

I haven;t listened to any new gqom in ages, its sounding much less divorced form kwaito now, Its that classic cycle between dark and light.

Heard this one at a festival last weekend. I've also fallen out of touch with gqom/SA house but this kind of makes me want to get back into it.
