Yeah yeah I agree.
But do you agree about the libel cases? I just don't see what possible defence they have; they loudly and repeatedly told insane and damaging lies about these companies, what are they gonna say? I guess they don't have billions to pay up but they're gonna get bumfucked aren't they?

it would seem that way, it was way OTT and I believe they were warned more than once before being hit with the lawsuit. same with the MyPillow guy. I hope dominion is pissed enough that they don't feel tempted to accept any sort of out-of-court settlement.

I think it's possible that, despite all their bravado, they will at the last minute agree to put out an incredibly servile and apologetic statement admitting that every single thing they said was an enormous lie with absolutely no grounding in fact.... the thing is MAGA won't believe that it's real so the damage is done so why should Dominion accept that?

Which is the crux of the matter of course; MAGA will believe anything, no matter how crazy, as long as it points to Trump being the victor.... while on the other hand even if the same people who told them that crazy retract their lies or whatever or say something about how actually Trump didn't win, then they automatically become a liar traitor deep state scumbag. It's a very selective one-way madness, like a tube with valves that only let the crazy (and true for that matter) go in one direction. What can be done with these people?

Lin Wood went further than all of them though. On his Twitter account before Jan 6 he was sending out increasingly deranged tweets saying that John Roberts was a pedophile and murderer, Mike Pence should be executed by firing squad and (somehow connected to all of his) Jeffrey Epstein was still secretively alive. I don't know anything about legal matters, but surely making those sorts of claims publicly would have consequences for his professional prospects.

Powell's cases were rejected by the Supreme C
The "important live cases" were finally killed today though and - with the possible exception of HMG - there can't be anyone in the whole world who is gullible enough to believe that she is actually gonna suddenly produce some evidence can there?

Let me assure you that I don't give this stuff any attention outside the time I spend trolling on here

Yes I think so. I believe that in one state they withdrew which means he can't practise law there, but there is also a motion to disbar him (and Sidney too I think) though whether or not that will come to anything who knows. You'd think Roberts might want to sue for those statements but I guess he's rising above it - which in my view is a big mistake, if you don't slap 'em down and stamp on them immediately they keep coming.

I actually believe that, but won't let it spoil our back and forth. I sense you're a bit more committed to what you say on the Wuhan thread, though.

I think that if someone publicly insists you are a paedophile you have the right to take all action available to you. He could have legal recourse and he doesn't take it so what message does that send? For one thing it means Wood will say more crazy stuff and probably others will repeat it and say other stuff about other people too. Also, that guy Noel Castler often insists that Trump was an adderall addict when they worked on the Apprentice together, he also says that he used to shit himself regularly and makes countless other claims about the casual racism and horrible behaviour of the whole Trump clan - and a big part of his thing is saying that Trump doesn't sue him cos it's all true... so can Wood make that argument too?

in the case of Chief Justice Roberts, my guess is he doesn't do anything because it's so clear to everyone that wood's got mental issues and no one takes him seriously. not that it makes it ok to say that sort of stuff, but would be like suing a slow child for being naughty.

I'm sure that's his reasoning but the point is there are so many mentallists in America right now that if you even a naughty child keep saying this then it ends up becoming gospel truth to about a third of the country.

In the minds of these people, it becomes the fact that he doesn't want to sue Wood because he knows that Wood has the goods. Do you remember that whole thing where Wood was talking about some encrypted computer files he had. "I have the password!" he said. "Should anything happen to me you can find the password for the encrypted files showing the rape on Peado Island in the top left hand drawer of my mahogany desk!" Sometimes I feel like I hallucinated this whole episode, it was so weird.

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm saying - not about the drawer, I mean about how people assume he's not being sued cos he knows the truth rather than cos he's too fucking craaaaaazy to bother with.
