in a majority vote, yes. but with the electoral college, there's a path where he could pull off a win. his approval rating has always hovered between 36-42%, but Biden needs people to turn out for him.

I really think he's fucked over enough people and done enough stupid stuff to prevent him winning the necessary votes in the EC... I mean right now there are over one-hundred thousand covid deaths, 15 percent unemployment, the country is on fire and Trump hasn't the beginnings of a strategy to combat any of that. I know the true believes will never recognise his fundamental unfitness for the role but I think he will finally repel too many to win a fair election. And that's if he doesn't drop dead before them... every time I see him he looks more and more physically and mentally unwell.

Yeah... I mean, don't get me wrong, this ought to be an election that the Dems should find impossible to lose.... but it seems they are determined to give it a damn good go.

Biden has about an 80% chance at the moment according to the analysis of state polling Ive seen. Impossible to say what those numbers will be like come november - if he survives until then.

as I mentioned earlier, so many variables between now and November...economy, unemployment, COVID, etc. but also the debates: trump could make Biden look really feeble.

Someone from US - Leo, Padraig - does it mean much that members of the Bush admin are coming out so strongly against Trump? Or for Biden even. I mean that can't be common can it that people hate the incumbent so much they switch their support to their historical enemies.

Trumpworld considers Bush administration folk, George Will, Mitt Romney, etc. as the GOP establishment and probably wear it as a badge of honor. I guess there's a chance it could sway some Republican voters to back Biden but certainly not a huge wave.

I saw something last night suggesting Trump was in fact the antichrist and that's why he held the Bible backwards and upside down. Personally, I think he's just that thoughtless and incompetent, but who knows... I got a text from my dad this afternoon saying he's surprised he can even hold a Bible without bursting into flames.

I see it includes a penis which - if we can take Stormy Daniels at her word - definitely isn't Donald Trump's.

encouraging.

In March, nearly 80 percent of white evangelicals said they approved of the job Mr. Trump was doing, [Public Religion Research Institute] found. But by the end of May, with the country convulsed by racial discord, Mr. Trump’s favorability among white evangelicals had fallen 15 percentage points to 62 percent, according to a PRRI poll released Thursday.
That is consistent with declines that other surveys have picked up recently. Among white Catholics, the same poll also found that his approval has fallen by 27 points since March.
