the new french montana mixtape is good too. not really a clear standout so far - does feel like something hes sort of just knocked out without thinking about it v much, but montana does that puffed up new york shit talking kind of rap really well. hes a bit like rick ross. not a great rapper, per se, but he knows how to pick great beats, and basically deliver the goods each time, albeit at a low level of ambition.

edit - actually tbh im not sure its 'good', but its not 'bad' either. needs more montana, less guest boosts.

Point 2. Neither are 'artists' but both are responsible for extremely good songs.

Point 3. Rick Ross is a better writer and has a better voice better clothes, better star

You're a student you don't even care about clothes. You don't think to match your hat to shoes

He's been posting a picture of him and nas where he's Wearing neck brace

That's going to be a very legendary photo 10 years from now when kids are looking at pics of him on the digital media circuit of the 2020s. Some sort of simulated virtual museum of media. With a lowercase T.

ross is the better rapper/vocalist/general presence, majestic and hilarious in his pomposity

but montana is good for goon-rap, slightly stupid, lacking in self awareness, but has a lot of spirit, also feels like one of the best things new york has got right now, in terms of having that directness which cuts through both asap-style trendiness and artsiness and joey badass 1990s-derivations, hes like puffy's new black rob

ross is like avon barksdale, montana is like weebie or someone (yes i am doing corny wire analogies)
