There's a guy in Manchester who's been doing this for years, going up and down Oxford road. He's on a bike and all the music he plays is 80s. Like he's stuck on that. But it's usually very good. Big sound as well.

He cycles past my flat most days blasting out Joy Division and the like... if it's seven in the evening and I can hear loud music outside then it's going to be Barrington on the move...

Yeah he cycles past my work (when I was at work) and it's the same thing, you get this moment when you hear him and it's usually very loud and distorted, then you catch 5 proper seconds of run DMC or whoever, then he's gone. I always give him a wave if I'm out on the street, good lad.

weve always had a few that go up and down the thames but its just exploded over the last year its a whole mental illness scene now, although they dont interact as far as i know. creating and preserving the bubble with noise seems to be the important thing.

i think in these coming months we're going to see a lot of the casualties maybe. the football mayhem may be early warning sign

Buckethead's someone I guess would qualify as a genuine savant. He did an interview out of character a few years ago and sounded like a nervous teenager despite being close to 50 now. Speaking through one's instrument's something of a cliche, but holds true in his case. He can barely hold a conversation, but stick a mask and KFC bucket on his head and a guitar in his hands and he turns into a virtuoso.

The goofiness I often have to tolerate, but I like that it's a sincere goofiness. I don't feel there's any irony in him dedicating songs to his aunt or doing The Robot on stage. He's just a weirdo who happens to be a very good guitarist.

Barrington is the name of the schizophrenic cunt who tried to stab me at a bus stop. At 8am. 4-5pm you could understand. Bad day, so let’s go and stab some cunt. 8am was poor form

it sounded incredible it really did. theres a new mental illness where people just go up and down the river blasting out music all day. the same people all the time. theres loads of them. its this nutter scene that sprung up over the pandemic year. most cycle up and down but theres a few that just push these hilariously big speakers on little trolleys
im trying to remember what he played today. it was hilarious. one of those euro dance specials with a US GI doing a ropey Jamaican accent talking about his 'bob marley collection'

I think I have craner to thank for hearing this one. Beautiful rough sounding ambient jungle. 4hero/manix I think?

Yesterday on mushrooms it sounded sublime and today on a very slight dose of mushrooms it still sounds special. I won't bang on about it as I'll just end up dribbling.
