Tentative Andy

I'm in the Meal Deal
Well, how was it? I don't know Sherwood's stuff much apart from what he's produced or mixed for other people.

Does he have a band of sorts or is it strictly decks-n-laptops?

It was pretty good! No band, it's just him with decks and various bits of gear that he uses to tweak/manipulate the sound. I love Sherwood & On-U but find it pretty hard to get my head round their output, it's such a big, sprawling thing. I guess one thing that struck me about his set was that it was less abrasively noisy than I maybe expected - definitely more of the roots&dub end of things and less of the industrial/electro-leaning stuff. He played a great version of this, which will do nicely as my COTD :

And, yet, I raise you, up one notch.

Edit: that was practically a lesbian porn video, sorry lads.

Exam finished and headed from Copenhagen to L.A. tomorrow. Apparently everyone still loves the Red Hot Chili Peppers over there. Tune unrelated but it's good for being happy.

Always enjoy a bit of Haircut 100 at the very start of spring.

i think of these guys every time i hear vampire weekend, preppy white boys laying down some sweat-free funk lite. btw, i loved haircut 100 when they came out and still kinda like 'em, but never took to VW.

Don't forget, though, these lads were a chart-busting Boy Band back in their salad days. This is a loverly, light-footed album straight out of The Dirtbox milieu.
