Dental Bills

I'm in some pain right now with a wisdom tooth that is crumbling and a swollen gum. Went down the dentist and registered, that was 25 notes straight off the bat, now they tell me i need two fillings, the tooth removed, probably at hospital at the earliest september. So I'm like have you got anything for the pain cos I dont fancy spending the next six months with tooth ache. Apparently ant-biotics will take this pain away, I was hoping for soemthing a bit more immediate, ya get me.

My question is, I was told it will be 40 quid for the fillings on NHS and god knows how much for the tooth, the woman told me this after she said are you private or nhs. So what do you get if your private, a cup of tea and some extra pain releif. You pay for your prescription and treatment so what is NHS about going to the dentist ? :(

you walked into a nhs dentist and registered straightaway? that is some achievement.
as to the diff - it's money. whatever you pay for nhs denistry double at the very least.
with wisdom teeth there is a chance that you might be able to be referred to another , larger, practice who may well treat you as an nhs patient, they'll do the op there, alternatively you'll have to cough up and get it done pretty quick as a private patient.
most people these days do not have an option as nhs dentists are few and far between, for example my wife's dentist announced he was no longer going to treat nhs patients and she had to make up her mind whether to stay with him or go to a new dentist( she stayed and now her check-ups are about £25). in the same practice my dentist is still nhs(my check -ups are £9) but for how much longer i dunno.
it's a difficult one, teeth.

NHS dentists are also watching the clock - they're told to keep within a certain time to fit in with Labour quotas, so, if the job's not finished at the end of half an hour....

Whereas private, they work until the job's finished. That's one big plus.

"Baby I got your money..."

I could be wrong, but as far as i can tell, dentists are fucking conmen!
Get trained up for free on the government and then piss off to the private sector to cash in!
Cheers tossers!

Theres a chance they all look like ODB these days.
