in general the contemporary approach to AI is can it simulate a real intelligence in some way, for example can it accurately categorise picturesDon’t know/understand what logistic regression is, or any advanced statistics yet, but I’d agree that my understanding the cutting edge machine learning algorithms come nowhere close to conscious.
There was a good definition that a neuroscientist gave of consciousness, which I will have to paraphrase until I can locate it. Something like this:
A thing is said to be conscious is there is something that it is like to be that thing, a certain likeness of being that thing.
So yeah in this case I think certain strictly defined problems have solutions that don’t require anything close to consciousness, but it may all concatenate eventually into something larger, a network effect.in general the contemporary approach to AI is can it simulate a real intelligence in some way, for example can it accurately categorise pictures
I think this is largely a paranoiac fantasy. Those are two of the things they'd like to take away from you.
Yeah I see what you mean, and I think trying to force algorithms to behave like how we think we behave may prove to be a misguided effortI think technology exists on something like a different track entirely to consciousness
Which isn’t to say nobody out there wants to dictate our thoughts and opinions, I just think that such an endeavor is beyond even the scope of the likes Amazon, or the likes of whatever Rothschild descendent has a stake in every industry. Uber complex systems.I think this is largely a paranoiac fantasy.
That said, we do see how easy to manipulate most people can be, once they settle into their media echo chambers.Which isn’t to say nobody out there wants to dictate our thoughts and opinions, I just think that such an endeavor is beyond even the scope of the likes Amazon, or the likes of whatever Rothschild descendent has a stake in every industry.
