it's definitely not that. greens says its bad for driving in bad driving conditions, which i can imagine, not that i drive, but that doesnt explain why you never hear it in bars or pubs or whatever. maybe its just too hectic and overbearing for those sorts of venues.

really enjoying this album over the past few days. has a bit of a metal vibe to it, right up my street. think it would still belong more at cafe oto than pizza express though, not that i've ever been to the former

nonsense, I know people who drive to 360 bpm traditional south-eastern anatolian zurna music. a very speedy tempo. Greens is just a northern softy.

It's cafe oto jazz rather than the better pizza express version, but have been listening to colin stetson this week after seeing his name about for years. don't know if it's a deep love or a quick novelty fling yet, but it grabbed me straight away. has that experimental thing going on and sounds i haven't heard before but it's also accessible and aggressive, which is pretty much the sweet spot for me.

flicking through this was my entry point

He did Hereditary’s soundtrack and ripped off the prelude to Das Rheingold in the process
yeah most of the recent stuff that's on tidal is all soundtracks, which is quite a different kind of music obviously. I've been listening to this album called All I Do For Glory, it's sometimes a bit too fidgety but it bangs along, it's got pace momentum rhythm and all that. A lot of this kind of thing i rinse for about a week and then when I come back to it 6 months later I don't know what I was thinking, the appeal isn't something that's obvious.

we're going next week. he said it is the most boring guitarist in the history of the world. he plucks one string every half an hour or so and we meditate on the reverberation fading into silence. sounds awful but im committed.
