Void Dweller

Rectified.
the intro is from a world where melody isn't limited to simple, crude ostinati (as is the case in popular music now). long-winded instrument-speech that flows freely. very expressive and evocative of voice or thought. phrases formed out of water rather than bricks. yet there's never a sense of difficulty or awkwardness, it all sounds exactly right. suppose that has in part to do with parallelism (probably not a real term) where successive phrases start the same way but go different ways. and also the concept of modality/scale--a concept for which i've recently developed a belated respect after always getting lost writing basically atonal rave riffs. i think all the best "head music" creates a sense of being able to go anywhere without going wrong. of course, the illusion that no step can be wrong can really only be achieved with discipline and some semblance of rules, or at least strong guiding principles...

The opening instrument whatever it could be posited like a Turkey as a midway point between guitar and sitar I've always been seduced by the idea of a sound continuum that stretches from Ireland to the borders of China, gradually morphing as it moves east

You can do this with guitar, you need to remove the fret bord. of course the danger then is you can break the strings so I think you have to buy a custom made one rather than doing it yourself.

Some old bloke had a western baroque lute in the pub I used to drink at in leeds. fascinating instrument, no fret bord, just a body and strings with a big whole in the middle. I just took it in my hands and started making some noises with it whilst probably unpleasant to the guy didn't sound all that awful to me. 12 tone equal temperament like you get on the piano is a sin.

I get the idea. It's the age old indie thing of displaying your ineptitude in the hope of seeming cute and vulnerable, like a wounded bird. Dress like a child. Have your toes pointing inward.
Have some respect. Evaboy is dead. Shot and killed by Mashcore musician DJ Gape on his way to Panera.

RIP Evaboy.
