Electro

electro was also a very important starting point for many people in so far that it was the first electronic (dance) music lots of peeps were enjoying. I remember reading / listening to many interviews with prime movers of the 1990s electronic music revolution who were referring to electro as an early influence/reference point.

electro at jungle tempo, what could have been if techstep didn't cross with jump up. well in my alternate universe at least.

Electro/Hip-Hop. 1986. I love all of these electro songs for robot wars and space voyages and whatnot. Also I love how close hip-hop and electro were in the old days, practically indistinguishable.

No Scorpio, yet?

There's a good electro section in Dave Tompkins' How to Wreck a Nice Beach. Mostly Jonzun Crew (surprise appearances by Sun Ra and New Kids on the Block at the same time), but Miami generally and some New York.

The first side of this (on album) remains the greatest mix ever, ever made. The mix from Pacman to wiki was and is just fucking breathtaking, it's like a golem being made to breathe
