Ant Man was set to be directed by Edgar Wright but something went wrong (presumably Marvel were demanding too many changes) and he quit.
You can tell he storyboarded some of it, it's got a bit more pizazz then most Marvel movies. The action is also a standout for the MCU cos of the comic potential of him being tiny.
Ah, I think that might be an attempt at the kind of austere humor that maybe 20-somethings seem to gravitate around. At least in the US. I think it goes over well, that kind of humor.
Theres a kind of ironic self-inflationary, austere/quirky humor that increasingly defines the tone of these films. Often times quickly paced, maybe staccato is a good word for some of these instances, etc.
