In fact there are a whole group of actors who seem to exist only to dwarf professional action stars and make it look as though they have no chance of winning a fight.

@szalwiarz what are your top twenty marvel films ranked in order please?
I used to like iron man (1 was cooler than 2 though) but I cannot enjoy anything newer than that from marvel.
Might be that I never was into american comics as a kid, stuff like Asterix rather.
Some parts of the anglo culture I do enjoy but some, like the marvel franchise and poor quality bread, I don't think I will learn to appreciate anytime soon.
If I watch any capeshit I generally strive towards DC stuff, I remember Watchmen was p gud

central yuros do have some nostalgia for the tearing-down-the-wall times and tend to excessively sympathize with the us and a but I'm slightly too young to remember that also never had a tv in my life so in total no pokemon, no marvel stuff, no pro-israeli propaganda, no dbz or megaman even
I, for one, find hentai flash game soundtracks more nostalgic and touching than anything

Which bit of Central Europe? We've got a surfeit of Danes and one Dutchman but no one from the heartlands.

Growing up, the one thing I wanted more than anything else was super powers. It wasn't until the middle of 6th grade that I finally gave up on trying to nurture my not quite nascent telekinetic abilities and turned to (slightly) more practical avenues. Taking a queue from all the Kid's Science and Physics books that surrounded me, I decided I was going to "make cool things" and be an "inventor". To me, "inventing stuff" served the same psychological slot that super powers had. Maybe I'd never be Spider-Man, but I could be Batman!
It's interesting that this is baked into the films, too. Technology as an adequate replacement or rival for magic. cf "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic"

Iron Man is presented as the most powerful one out of all of them and he's just a engineer nerd
