"People said that Prynne’s poetry was perhaps the only poetry wholly resistant to scansion. They said that he spoke with a lisp. They said that he was an avid philologist, and had a giant file devoted to the word “dust,” and believed that it was imperative to learn Anglo-Saxon."

Dust is boredom, stillness. "Fariña made you feel incredible, he was so lively, it was like he was moving the game forward."

Swaddled in hazy fictions, gauze over
paper skin, wrapped in layers in the
warm sun, dust settling, neither here nor there,
transition into immateriality, senses softening,
light soft now, senses fading

Shallow awareness
Airborne dust glints in the sun, kicked
up by passing wheels. Timeless mother
is this my slow death, too?

The dust settles on the board and version heroically kicks it up again

The dust rises the dust settles. Periods of high activity periods of low activity. Gas and solid. Oscillating liquid between clouds and "O cripse I'm drownded in the sea plunging lost falling forever...."

Dust is mostly car exhaust and textile fibers. this means that if you live far enough from a road, or if you have well-filtered HVAC intakes, savvy choice in textiles allows you to basically abolish the stuff from your life. Some research to suggest also that cars could have electrostatic collectors to prevent tire dust from making it into the air, which would massively reduce several kinds of disease and probably boost lifespan significantly.

I thought dust was mostly dead skin? Is that not true?

polyester, nylon
Cotton also relatively good. Anything with a tight weave is best, anything with loose fibers exposed or with a kind of fuzzy feeling to it is going to be worse. Linen is probably the worst offender, absolutely a dust frenzy.

It's a contributor. Depends on the exact makeup of your home but it's a good candidate for third place. But in a normal home it's probably 10% skin. You can gauge it by looking at the color—dead skin will usually be white or tan, fibers will usually be a bluish gray (unless you have a wardrobe that's all pink or something) and tire dust will be black. You could also have contributions from the paint on your walls, so factor that in too.

Keep your room dust-free by placing a very old artefact in the corner; old things attract the most dust by far.
