There isn't one, but it went on for years, so there are probably bits scattered all over the place.

Basically Craner said whatever Hitchens said and we all called him an imperialist and a baby killer. That's about it really. Only it went on for years, in fact, it's still going on. Just last week he described Iraq as "one of only four or five truly just wars" and as "Tony Blairs apotheosis and lasting triumph. He will be remembered as one of the great rulers of this world."

I cluster-bombed all the goodwill and respect I'd built up from my fellow bloggers in a protracted and painful process of circular argumentation and over-drinking.

But that was only part of your Hero's journey. Then you won it all back again with your famous top 100 favourite songs.

All my work from 2020:

An extended review of Oliver Letwin's memoir Hearts and Minds: The Battle for the Conservative Party from Thatcher to the Present:

A piece about the Antonio Margheriti films Cannibal Apocalypse, The Last Hunter, Tiger Joe, Code Name: Wild Geese, Commando Leopard and The Commander:

An essay about the destruction of Swansea, Vernon Watkins' The Broken Sea, Dylan Thomas' 'Return Journey' and Welsh nationalism:

A very neglected study on British identity in the Powell and Pressburger films 49th Parallel, One of our aircraft is missing..., The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp, Black Narcissus, A Canterbury Tale, Gone to Earth, The Edge of the World, I know where I'm going!, A Matter of Life and Death, The Small Back Room, The Battle of the River Plate, Ill Met By Moonlight and Peeping Tom:

An essay on Sarah Palin, the Tea Party and the rise and rise of Donald Trump:

I get most of my readers from Dissensus so thank you to everybody who has read anything I've written this year, it means a lot to me.

It's a good one this. I prefer my Craner with some glamour. Oliver Letwin is not glamourous and nor is Cardiff. It also has that good Craner quality of presenting a seductive image of something I am instinctively hostile towards. Eg tyrants, murderers, Anna Wintour, the fashion industry. So my reading is part admiration and envy, part bristling
