Ironic that the single most toxic element of the forum is now trying to play the moral game.

lol he's always been like that, i find it charmingly endearing. a lib dem who took too much acid and went off the deep end, unlike Joe Muggs who hasn't nearly done enough psychedelics to escape from his white brit moralistic hangups.

Not sure how assertive I can be about it, but I can certainly find ways to rephrase it and reconfigure it. Anyway, all good input. I like the idea of farming/fostering new ideas.

im a bit weirded out by mapping out predefined frameworks but apart from neo-psychedelia and the ritual power of music I'dalso say the inevitable attempt to think beyond borders and ditch the localism of the previous hardcore continuum generations. DJing is a right wing abomination. The Little Silver Box.

speed not as velocity but as censory overload through the atomisation of labour and the rapidfire bombarding of micro bits and bites of sound - flashcore.

Coldness and Darkness as a desirable aesthetic to unite the unknown and the familiar, rather than just caning the drugs/good vibes too much.

Not straight line speed which can only ever end in the unbroken note, drone or blur but as event-density. As information feed - and this is where (one reason) hardcore and jungle are so prophetic, arriving from the future- the BPM is not the important measure of speed, it is the amount of information within the bar, (and this is why the return to linearity post 95 was so regressive) different timbres and textures, sheer amount and variety of individual sounds. There is just a little too much information to track and keep hold of,

the beyond borders/localism thing is interesting and fraught. this is the reverse of multiculturalism has gone too far isnt it. the tenedency here has always been to valorise the local. a lot of your things i suppose have been deliberately provactive and useful attmepts to reverse the order of judgement.

so if any time someone makes the mistake of taking your arguments seriousy they get angry and call you a psycho but i think looked at more dialectaly in the context of the forum, they're helpful recalibrations

so good vibes health and positivity blessed ones soul music becomes cloying and oppressive when theres no escape from it. this is definitely true. stop hugging me. give me some nice clean sterile coldness.

The beauty of third is his secret sweet heart underneath that authoritarian cyborg facade. That's why he loves boogie and deep house almost as much as the nosebleed machine funk. Yin n yang!

Sure, though I'm emphatically not a woke diplo writing for fact mag, I just see the local as coexisting within a whole, the democratising impulses of digital technology, and the changing compositions of culture, it's why I found it instructive when bliss and barty (and even corpsey) were saying they find it cringe when Jammer becomes a pop star but not travi$ scott, which says wonders.

Both Bliss and Joe Muggs are sonic nationalists. it's why Muggsy bangs on about 'Englishness but not Britishness'

I want to organise a fight between Droid and Muggs.

Also, Northern Ireland must be subsumed into the republic. anti-partitionism!

I'm also big into mistakes. jungle was best when it was not streamlined and created a hyper-amphetamine psychotic coldness. the more grime became like hip hop (and I just don't mean US hip hop, i mean british rap as well) the less I'm interested. Same with techno. I like rattles inside a broken tin rather than the 'optimised for club sound systems tech house' dogshite that came about in the mid 90s. It's why I found deeptech utterly revolting, personally. This isn't so much a return to localism but an insistence to think beyond the club/superstar/auteur matrix.

why? its basically a compilation of interesting forum-grown ideas, not an attempt to force underlying philosophical consistency on them

i guess because a lot of what I think of as self-evident isn't to many so I'm like hang on where do I start? Like specific threads don't really stick in my mind - Oh that was a good thread or that was a bad thread. I just say it the way it seems to me.
