I was in Filey. Id never been there before and wouldn't go back. I need wanky coffee in seaside towns nowadays. The allure of chips and staring at grey waves isnt enough any more.

Look at how modern life has ruined me

Ticked one off my bucket list the other day - the parasitic bolete! It grows exclusively on the common earth ball.

Lot of roadkill today, slaughterhouse blues - couple of 2d squirrels, a rat (safe), a fox (not safe), a badger (bless)

Autumn's copper hues are dusting across views out and about. Today also had a strange milky haze that burned away by early afternoon. Not fog but a deep mist. Eery and uncanny, then the bluest sky i've seen since being abroad that gave way to an almost auburn cloudscape that rolled in

Saved another bee yesterday, it was knackering itself against the kitchen window. I carried it outside, set it down and fed it.

This time it was a larger Common carder bee, so I was able to discern the length and surprising flexibility of its tongue as it lapped up the honey I'd dotted in its vicinity.

I'm not sure if feeding rescued bees honey is best practice, but the little furry fucker lapped it up like a champ.

Proper autumnal fog-on when I first got up. Now it's clearing but still lots of mist lower down (I'm on a slight hill). Very nice.

Speaking of wasps I think one of those Asian hornets just invaded my lunch... oh the photo is too big to upload appropriately enough given the size of the thing.

Went on a slightly longer walk this morning, into this area I've never been to in my life, and the dog startled a few deer.

On the way back saw this brilliant llama who just made me smile so much.

Im not normally into them, they look a bit weird, but this one came really close and something about the face, I was laughing my head off
