I'm liking the twitter campaign about Johnston's outrageous malingering when he was "at death's door" "Extremely unwell" "admitted to ICU" with Covid, when clearly he was perfectly OK - noone normal would even have been admitted to hospital in that mild condition (& of course he gave fatuous speeches and partied soon after leaving hospital)

That episode absolutely rescued his approval ratings, blocked any rational criticism, and gave him a weird cartebanche to cock up and corrupt the rest of the covid response...
what's really tragic is that i reckon this was perfectly obvious at the time, but there is a naive and pathetic public reluctance to accept that our leaders could behave with such bad faith and contempt

This seems like some sort of joke to me, wasn't Blockbuster the company that Netflix etc put out of business? Like when he said he would make a "titanic success of Brexit" it almost seems as though he is trolling his own supporters.

There is someone one there who thinks that cos Churchill and Johnson both faced a VONC then it means that they are similar people AND who thinks that Nadine Dorries isn't a complete fucking idiot!

Completefuckingnutcaseontheradio

This cretin looks at Dorries and thinks "There is the person who ought to run the whole country". Nadine Dorries PM! Dorries as PM! Fuck me. What is the point of strategy and policy and.. just trying to do things right etc when you have people like this who are allowed out of their cage long enough to vote and go on the radio too while they are at it? It's not even fucking funny any more, I just feel thoroughly depressed at the whole sickening mess that is British politics and the naseating pus filled abscess on the top of it that is the Tory party. Sometimes I just completely despair and... just fuck it.

So, you know when Johnson was at death's door, in an oxygen tent and suffering so severely with covid that it was touch and go as to whether or not our brave - nay heroic - prime minister would pull through? All he could think as he lay there was that despite the herculean achievements he had already achieved, there was still so much more that needed to be done.

His life balanced on a knife-edge, death's icy hands closed around his huge, loving heart our beloved Boris was slipping away; an ineffably deep and sonorous voice rang out saying "Come to the light weary fat boy, tis time for thou to abandon this mortal coil and take your rightful place next to me, just above Jesus, for thou didst get Brexit done... (worriest though not, that tunnel is wider than it doth look)" and as he spake thusly he turnethed to the side - and kickedeth Jesus out the way saying "Thou lazy bast, 2000 years hast passed since last thou didst anything for the lord thy God".

Saint Boris rose ever upwards, and as he ascended his phystical form was transformed mightily so that he came to resemble one of those chubby little guys with rolls of fat, a shock of golden-blond hair and beatific, vacant expressions on their faces....

"NO!" he cried "NO! My work is not yet done."

And the rise of Arch-Angel Boris began to slow, his mind focused on that expensive wallpaper not yet fitted, that new secretary whose arse he had not had a chance to pinch, so many piss-ups to organise inside number 10... and at the back of his mind something about a country called England or Britain or something. And thus did God decide that it was not yet time for Bozza to come into his reward... and suddenly he awakened, in his body once again, his strength had grown two-fold and he had a renewed sense of purpose, he took his bed and walked.. and the rest is history.

However, it's now being reported all over that that was total and utter bollocks and he was never ill at all. Now, personally it doesn't take much to make me at least question the veracity of what Johnson says, however, I have to say that I don't know what it is that has suddenly come through which means that people are suddenly stating this so categorically and with such confidence. I suppose as usual we'll find out soon enough though.

BBC presenter trying to shut down talk of this story that's disappeared from The Times about Boris looking to get Carrie a 100k job while he was Foreign Secretary and having an affair with her.

Apparently there's no super injunction or specific legal reason for it not to be published, the journalist stands by the story and No. 10 have admitted to asking The Times to retract it.

Perhaps, but they've published loads of other shit about him and his government. Why draw the line here?

Boris apparently went in for routine surgery today and Raab's temporarily in charge.

Do we believe this or is it another of his tactics to get away from a negative story?
