Had a lot of interesting stuff to say. Was slightly annoying perhaps but I didn't mind.

Weed and booze make you bypass REM sleep. REM sleep is vital for maintaining your brain functions. When you come off either you experience extremely vivid dreams (in the case of alcoholics, waking dreams are possible - delerium terms) - this is your brain catching up on REM. REM is so important that your brain will go into overdrive on it when you stop suppressing it.

It basically made me realise (by coming off weed) that weed was why I felt tired all the time, no matter how much sleep I got.

And feeling tired Vs not feeling tired is night and day for me.

His hair is weird.

One of my favourite rogans though. I'm a bit obsessed with sleep cos I'm so shit at it.

Sleep that knits up the raveled sleave of care,
The death of each day's life, sore labor's bath,
Balm of hurt minds, great nature's second course,
Chief nourisher in life's feast
See this is how Macbeth talks about sleep once he stops getting any

My sleep's been good recently and it really does do wonders. I've had over a decade of feeling like a ghost. I'm worried about reading this book and learning I've done myself some hideous long term damage.

I stayed up for a day and a half so I was tired enough to fall asleep at a decent time then made sure to get up and now I'm naturally tired due to being up all day and can sleep normally.

You regularly stay up a day and a half? That can't have changed years of insomnia?

I've never had insomnia, just a terrible sleep pattern. At its worst I was going to bed at 10am and getting up at 8pm. Total lack of self-discipline.

Anyone read Matthew Walker's Why We Sleep? Someone's just lent me a copy.

For the last two months I've been sleeping for 4 hours a night, thinking about Matthew Walker's "Why We Sleep".

130 hours of writing and research and 6000 words later -- https://guzey.com/books/why-we-sleep/

Dozy science

Anxiety around sleep is widespread. Many of us feel we do not get enough. An army of experts has sprung up to help, and this week we test some of the claims from one of the most prominent among them, professor Matthew Walker. He plays ball and answers some of the criticisms of his bestselling book Why We Sleep.

I'm struggling with sleep ATM, driving me mental.

Has anyone tried CBD oil for sleep? Someone was telling me it's good today but it's expensive.

I'm trying to stay away from weed cos the THC fucks up REM sleep but CBD apparently doesn't effect REM.

i tried it once but wasn't disciplined/organized enough, apparently you have to do it every morning and evening for two weeks before it starts to work.
