leo are you up for a ‘leo’s life story’ thread?

a zeitgeist-defining tale of growing up in a poor italian-american household in brooklyn, living in the shadow of your ordained older brother as you’re condemned to the menial life of a hardware store assistant; your only respite being new york's burgeoning disco scene.

ha, I wish! aside from a few deviations, my life's story would be a boring disappointment compared to fellow dissensions who were there at the birth of hardcore, jungle, grime, etc. but thanks for asking.

leo really is like forest gump. not in the disabled sense, but in the way that he was there at all these pivotal historical moments.

he was at the ramones first concert, he lent larry levan $50 to buy records in the early days of paradise garage. he's led an amazing life.

I used to know khan when he worked at temple records, in the basement of liquid sky. quite a character, funny as hell.

Peak US woke twitter more like. FACT, Mixmag etc also reports this bs.

Still it seems RA (FACT not yet) deleted the FB thread with 1K+ comments, obviously deleting comments on their own site wasn't enough. Sheesh.

Omar-s, another one who I always feel I should like more than I actually do. He's got the good backstory, maybe that's why. probably pretty cool if you have one 12" but there's not a lot of variety on tap.

Did corpsey post a good mix of his the other day in the recommended mixes thread? It had a history lesson vibe about it, started quite soulful and then got very minimal. I really enjoyed that, it felt like he knew how to select and dj, I think I listened to it all and enjoyed it. I know nothing about him otherwise, but you gotta rate that album title, and I also love RA a bit for promoting it anyway. What a scene

Wasn't it him that there was a phone interview and he had to pause it to go and shoot some animal in his garden? Certainly there are a lot of crazy stories about him.

not heard that one but the mythology includes how he worked on a GM assembly line during the day and DJed/made techno on nights and weekends. and the infamous photo of him writing on his white label singles with a handgun close by.

my favorite of his is
