i disagree that he doesn't fundamentally care about britain, his whole art is situated in an overidentification with britain's past and the british music press.

someone like loftgroover playing speedcore and death metal when british raciology would expect him to play jungle or uk garage seems more anti-british to me.

Yeah I would actually agree with you there. He clearly cares a lot it's true.

Yeah I just saw it myself. Exciting. Wonder if he'll tour it.

"Dash snow" but unexpected but I like it.

Those glitter cum saddam husseins he did were good.

yeah i loved that one as well. workout / edit vibe but feels like they just got on with it, and has that bit of live energy to keep it from being stale.

Reminds me of that really good DAF album

just read the boomkat review. this notion of a direct line between ar kane and dean blunt is getting a bit tiresome. there's something in it probably, but why does no one draw the line to eg steely dan who he's talked about loads, or sade or whoever. weird to get fixated on it.

still not heard black metal 1. got really bored with all that one man in his bedroom stuff he was churning out at the time so couldnt be bothered to investigate more of his stuff, but might try and catch up now theres a sequel. desert sessions was better than anything i have heard from delroy edwards too FWIW. very much of a piece with the vibe of early hype williams.

yeah it is mor ethat vibe than the other vibe, but for me, it's just nice to hear the voice again. gotta support.

i think that classic HW era - find out, one nation especially, attitude era bits, into the narcissist (which i absolutely caned and used to love but strangely cannot listen to at all anymore...) was the most golden bit.

this video from some guy in india that's been up for ages is one i still return to, it's got a mix of those bits

i'm also less of a fan of redeemer and black metal as compared to that. but i do love mersh.

and the video

i think he came back strong with babyfather, few bits from that era like the prefab sprout cover and sting freestyle really stick out to me.

and i love the loop on this

that sketch / live improv / workout vibe again.

i agree that desert sessions is best thing i've heard from delroy edwards
