obviosuly i dont eat bacon. the smell of it is one of the most foulest smells on this earth. stinks of piss and fat and disease.

i made a delicious veggy hamburger the other day. it was with fig mustard, salad, caramelized onions baked in port wine and lots of gorgonzola.

what do you guys think of olive oil? i always think it's so expensive and some people say it's really important for the flavors and all but as long as you don't drink it pure who cares if you get the cheap one?

usually the cheap things are fine, but bland. they dont have the complexity of flavour. whether its oil or cheese or coffee or booze. the nice thing ive found is that when youre used to the cheap one the nicer one tastes really nice. you really notice the difference. its a treat.

ive had to downgrade across the board over the last year and eg coffee now just comes in one flavour, burnt beans flavour. which is fine but when i get a nice cup it tastes amazing.

same with vegetables. theres a huge difference between an asda carrot and a waitrose carrot and then a good greengrocers carrot.

I use extra virgin for salads and any other oil for frying, most of the time I wouldn't notice the difference unless it's in a salad.

I have the same lunch pretty much everyday tin sardines or mackeral with lettuce, celery, tomatoes sometimes avocado balsamic and extra virgin olive oil.

chefs on cooking shows put a ton of olive oil or butter and salt in everything they saute, but then again they usually don't use non-stick pans. weird how oil spreads so much better on stainless steel pans versus non-stick.
