Could perhaps be considered in terms of how dominance is asymmetrically valuated in certain cultures, cultures that preserve a certain pre-cultural and animalistic arrangement of sexual power wherein the female is dominated into submission. Within that cultural paradigm, it can be framed as negative, from the male perspective, to have to settle for masturbation, whereas from the female perspective it can be framed as positive, as a kind of resistance. Perhaps.

And there is definitely a lot to laugh at here. I'd rather not have to get apologetic about it all though. It registers to me as being important, and not for purely abstract reasons. That said, in many ways I'm still stuck in the rabbit hole, driven by faith above all.
