Dissensus Blogs

This is a great idea. I’d get involved if it’s happening. I was thinking of a writing group to spur me on but the possibility of a dialogue with people who share my interests is more exciting

What benefits do you get from blogging? Genuine question.

For me it made me new friends, two of whom went on to found this place. It got me writing on a daily basis. It gave me people to test out my ideas with. An audience. and I became their audience. Reading what they wrote.

It was good fun. It's the closest thing, along with this place sometimes, I've got to feeling I was part of a 'scene' something with positive feedback loops of excitement and intensity and that

Yeah I see that. I enjoy a fight or an explanation, I need the conversation, I need to be provoked into a splurge and then told where i’m talking shite.

The conversation, or conversations, are always active, under the surface. The mind is thinking them through while you're not paying attention. That's why you need them. Otherwise, what is there? Why would any ideas be generated.

One of the problems for me is, can I go back to that slower speed? When I'm used to this place, can I go back in time. Can I wait till I've gathered enough material before posting? Can I be bothered?

That's something about essays which disgusts me. They seem really dishonest. They make me want to puke. So there's also the question of whether that is a healthy instinct which I should respect or if that's something I should fight against.

I think probably the right thing would be to try and do it. But what would I write about? id have to find something that I'm excited about and that I haven't succeeded in fully thinking through. To allow for a sense of discovery while writing.

The thought of writing my own essays makes me want to puke. Adopting that role. The slick explainer.
