i read 'the exploited' by simon morris, it's not that memorable, it's like one chapter as a teenage heroin head girl in blackpool, another with a woman in america, you're them, there is one very good transcendent chapter tho.

simon morris' 'consumer guide arrived the other day and it's a good read. I like the format - reviewing various items (books, records, films) but then it gets more offbeat, with reviews of fast food restaurants and there's also a section on relationships. Good stuff, good idea for a format.

And ALAP has arrived gratis via a local contact in the no audience underground - can't wait to get my teeth into it.

Matthew 'wulfboy' Connor. Anyone read him? Dean blunt used to read a line from one of his stories as part of his stage show: 'i used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to, too...'

I think that's a Mitch Hedberg line, unless he ripped it from wulfboy

I'm tempted to do a swap but that international shipping is a real death knell

Yeah total bastard shipping rates I know. But if you do wanna swap, I'm happy to do that, might just have a printing issue (final file is at my work and I've not been in for ages, so don't have access to it just at moment)

There's a good bit in the consumer guide where he talks about how shit he thinks the stone roses are, I'll find it for thirdform and luka, it's a very similar opinion to theirs so they can bask in their taste being corroborated

From the 'throwing shade' chapter:

"THE STONE ROSES - ultra-dated sounds, ignorance and dire stupidity marketed as attitude, a handful of overplayed mediocre songs with back of a beer-mat lyrics."

Found out about this French guy Mehdi Hercberg last night while googling about. Very much up my street.

Reminiscent of Paper Rad / Fort Thunder esp. Mat Brinkman.

Nice and lo fi website: http://www.shoboshobo.com/

Loads of (out of print) zines: http://grogore.free.fr/books/ he uses a weird time warp type copier, the Ditto, which has a built in short run - only 40 or so copies possible https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spirit_duplicator

The Cameron Jamie zine he's done on that printer looks really good. Like risograph but even more lo fi and with a sort of greasy/shiny feel cos of the ethanol and wax in the print.
