probably also extends as far as to inform the distinctions being teased out between different strains of house elsewhere on this forum, but someone clever than i am can put this better

There's an interview with DJ loser somewhere, this Greek guy doing very banging techno and he says something to the effect of how in a lot of other countries, there's these ridiculous gradations of genre in dance music and it all seems like theres 0.000001 difference between things. So they are just going back to basics and don't care about the labels etc. It's like we have vanities of small differences when the musics are actually so similar now
