In fact at the moment we are living in a time of hyperconspiracies on steroids. What sounded ludicrous last week to anyone in possession of basic reasoning faculties and discernment is now, not only being taken as gospel by half the world, but it also forms the cast iron basis for the next conspiracy theory to be built on.

MB literally can't see the words when you write 'long covid' - it's basically a fnord that causes him mild discomfort but he will never know why.

ONS estimates 1.1M cases in the UK.

4.4M have had the virus, whether they showed symptoms or not, so that's 25% of all cases. Obviously it'll be a higher percentage of people who were symptomatic.

I thought I read you guys were reopening, so it's all good, right? Mixed, are you hosting the first UK post-COVID dissensus meet-up at yours?

More than four weeks, self-reported...so what? If there's a high percentage with debilitating symptoms a year after, then we have a problem...but there's no sign of that.

Where's the peer-reviewed paper?

It's only just been a year since the first big wave, genius.

Yes, not all of those 1.1M people will have symptoms that last forever - but some will. If it's only 15%, that's already more than have died from it.

And sheesh, being horribly ill for "just" a month is something worth avoiding, isn't it? I've got a job to do and a toddler to look after. Being nauseous, lethargic and unable to think straight would interfere with both those things quite badly.

Not sure why you think self-reported stats would be unreliable. I thought you were a champion of People versus Experts?
