You'd get a Like reaction from @mixed_biscuits with any headline of that format, regardless of the animal or the substance involved, I reckon. Ocelot milk. Alligator semen. Fruit-bat earwax.

It is macabre. I think some (not all) people gloat as a reaction to some (not all) antivaxxers who are really obnoxious and/or aggro about their position.

I can understand the motivation, its a role reversal of the "acceptable deaths" talk earlier in the pandemic when we were meant to accept it as a flu equivalency etc

Still dark, just as it was then

We're definitely going through a period of brutalisation i think

Some people seemed very happy that Joe Rogan tested positive the other day then very angry that he recovered in a few days and said he took Ivermectin and a bunch of other stuff.

Did I miss everyone talking about Joe Rogan testing positive (and of course knocking back some horse dewormer)? Woulda thought COVID/Rogan was a Dissensus sweetspot.

reading about it, love this NY Times description of his show:

His podcast is effectively a series of wandering conversations, often over whiskey and weed, on topics including but not limited to comedy, cage-fighting, psychedelics, quantum mechanics and the political excesses of the left

I haven't taken it myself, have no intention of doing so and have no idea whether it has any sort of effect on the virus, but this constant emphasizing of Ivermectin being used to treat horses is ridiculous and, ironically, probably falls under "misinformation" due to being intentionally misleading. You can look the stuff up on Wikipedia and it mentions it's used to treat humans in the second sentence, but there's a relentless campaign to make out that the people taking it are doing the medical equivalent of eating dog food or something.

That's fair, but equally, it's used to treat parasite infestations, so there's no reason why it should be of any use to treat a disease caused by a virus.

It was a joke. Like 148 calling the vaccine a clotshot.
