Another one,

"I certainly don’t think the pandemic was started deliberately as a way to impose tyranny, nor that it was seized upon as such an opportunity in the early stages. [..]
I believe what we have is an emergent tyranny, the various pre-existing components (technologies, cultural enmities etc) of which have been hooked up to each other by the pandemic, transformed into a working machine.
This is my anti-humanist take on it. This tyranny is not the expression of a coherent will, neither of any particular individuals nor of a class. It is more truthful to conceive of it as a fated development rather than a chosen one."

It's not a revolution until the camel cavalry charge the main square. Best moment of the 21st century so far. There are loads of camels in Australia, so I'm hopeful. Signals the end of the regime, usually.

the aussies have copied the 'just nicked off from my job on a building site' look from the french
as a way to leverage the
idea of the 'working class' it differentiates them from the usual protestor class too
(anarchists, squatters, students, easily baton charged and horse trampled into submission)

A mate of mine was working on a commercial > residential conversion somewhere in Medway last winter when the Kent variant was rocking and i think they had something like 30 cases on site in a week so it did get shut down. But it was two weeks and then they cracked on again

The idea of shutting down the entire construction industry in late 2021 is absolutely mental regardless of views on vaccines or not, you'd think by now people would just figure out ways to work and crack on

i have obviously never been to Australia so don't know if this concept is viable or not.
