It's demented. It's a religious impulse. The virus is linked with pleasure and self indulgence. Gods punishment. Sodom. Gomorrah.

We were gonna dj in this secret party thing - naughty naughty I know - on Friday but the police came to the place before hand and went mental cos there were people doing stuff that wasn't linked to survival (he threatened a 2000 euro fine cos this woman was using her laptop after dinner when he insisted she should have just refueled and immediately gone home) and the owner panicked and shut down.

He's on a show called The Blacklist these days (or not long ago) and... it's kinda sad to see how quickly time changes this fresh faced child somehow. Sadder with some than others. WRONG THREAD SORRY

Measures only work if they're painful: wearing annoying masks, being denied treatment, losing one's job etc.

Non-painful measures eg. paying care home staff over the odds to live where they work are disregarded.

Targeted partial lockdown may have meant carers would be driving Lambos by now but we would still be billions of pounds (and thousands of deaths) to the good.

Presumably assuming something like 1/1000 prevalence among incomers with 1/100 false positive rate...1000 tests produce 10 false positives for every positive, therefore 1/11 of tests have been 'successful'
