i wanna know how people are catching the bug now, how come there's no analysis of which situations are riskier e.g.

* have people actually caught it by touching buggy surfaces (i think not)
* did anyone catch it outdoors
* is going by taxi better/worse than the tube or bus
for instance

assuming you believe the thing exists and more or less is behaving like how you'd expect, there must have been enough folk by now who can trace the moment they got it? at the start of the pandemic there were more tales from sufferers than now?

my common senses tell me that outdoors you're ok, and you're gonna catch it if you spend time indoors with a sufferer, otherwise it's v unlikely, no? i dunno about other countries but definitive advice about all that sort of thing is lacking as far as i can tell
it's like this yes. you'll have to spend some time with an infected person in a small room in order to get it i think. that's why it's ridiculous wearing masks on the streets or not allowing people in a museum as long as they keep their distance.

No confirmed cases of catching it from surfaces. You are safe outside. People wearing mask outside either consider themselves sick or are completely off their mind/has a crazy government/are asians. Public transport are probably reasonably safe even without mask if it it not longer than 30 minutes and people behave like most here in the northern countries (completely quiet transfixed by smartphones).
My guess is infections are mostly domestic, workplace (but vary a lot), and schools (for older children)/leisure.

Everyone wears masks outside in Spain, in a complete state of compliancy, I'm sure governments will be capitalizing on it in the future. you see people in their cars wearing masks and it's not even required, walking down an empty street alone masked up.

My 6 year old son has to wear one all day at school. He comes out with it all covered in food stains - doesnt seem very hygienic to me.

In some schools they even spray the kids feet with disinfectant as they enter which seems very silly and pointless.

Seems pretty grim time for kids at school, I've got two nieces here one just started secondary, have to stand apart in break times all lessons on separate tables like it's exams, no interactive activities in P.E.

Something really annoying here about this new "1pm on weekends" curfew - it makes it very explicit that in the weekdays you're allowed, or supposed even, to go out and keep the economy ticking over, making money and so on. But at the weekends, as soon as you have free time that you might want to spend going for a walk or doing countless other fun activities - no chance matey, get ye back inside.
The view from my balcony at 4pm on Saturday, not one person on the street in any direction. Thank goodness for the Chinese grocery shop who are the only people who are determined to sell their fucking veg come hell or high water.

Yeah, I think this is outrageous. Not only is there scant evidence that children are much of a hazard but also many of the exemptions that pertain to adults fall by the wayside: children are quite bad at assessing whether they feel distressed (or indeed what's the cause of the distress) or telling if they are at a risk of harm.

The government has made under-11s exempt for a reason!

When we were in an airport once saw this Chinese girls basketball team, was incredible to see these fourteen year old Chinese girls who were all above eight foot tall. I was impressed although I can't really say I became a fan as such, I never checked out any of their games.
