@polystyle The WHO = Q Anon? Right.

Feel free to investigate the matter yourself but you won't get very far in your quest.

Remember to wear a fitted N95 mask, have a clean shave, duct tape the edge of the mask down and follow the WHO guidelines - good luck with that!

Also wear gloves, a smock and goggles as the mask is only one component of effective PPE and not sufficient on its own.

My 6-year-old son has to wear one all day at school and keeps getting told off for letting it slip down under his nose, but none of the masks we've tried stay up and to be honest, now I couldnt give a shit, theres no way I'm gonna tell him off for it, he's six ffs.

Plus when I pick him up after school I look inside his mask and its always full of food stains from the canteen - must be a great breeding ground for bacteria.

Ok MB, this has run long enough for my patience.
' You don't think i understand' ?
and now i am going to be schooled about masks ?
Just don't and i say ' please '
If you have something you yourself has found out, experienced yourself , i am all ears and eyes.
Otherwise , to rerererere posted stuff like above i say Q Anon much ?

we've all been there, @polystyle!
Yes, that's the 'advice for the public' (ie. political bargaining chip); what I quoted is from their serious documentation, which is line with their research on masks for flu (which says they're useless).

Bear in mind that no-one actually follows the WHO's guidelines for use and you'll get an idea of the game that's being played here:

sigh.

you know perfectly well that WHO guidance is like this because they want to cover every conceivable point that improves protection, with an unattainable, ideal-world objective of complete protection. anyone who's not being completely disingenuous understands that if people adhered to half or even just some of those points, they would be pretty highly protected, which is the best any of us can ask for. your insinuation that failure to follow every one of those points to the letter makes mask wearing in general useless is, as you know, ridiculous.

You've met our covid denialist! We needed to have one for this to be a proper Noah's Ark so don't let it get to you!

This is a major assumption.

Public Health England's guidance said that cloth masks don't offer any protection.

Other masks may protect but if they're misused, then what? We don't really know, so must look at the overall effects of mass mask measures, which are poor.

WHO opinion on masks/Covid echoes theirs on masks and flu:

The mask measure is very useful for governments as it:

- shifts the blame onto the public
- makes the public think that they're protected and so they'll go shopping etc. (tho' they can't be protected as the gvt then shuts shops anyway!)
- sets people against each other, serves as a distraction

If you're a mask zealot, you've been had.

- blame for what?
- but people aren't going shopping, aside from for food, so...what's your point, again?
- distract from what?

- Blame for increase in cases/deaths
- The mask measure was introduced in the UK after the gvt had been dismayed by the lack of people returning to the high street
- Distraction from things that make a big difference eg. care home policy, treatment choice, hospital organisation

.
my reoccurring question, which you never answer: what's the benefit to business or government to have everyone locked down in their homes, restricted from being out shopping and socializing and content, or to have them simply unemployed? why would they want a sharp decline in tax revenue due to reduced sales tax collection? why would they want overburdened hospitals, exhausted doctors and nurses, unnecessary deaths and an increasingly frustrated populous?
