Funny how UK cases have decreased since 'Freedom Day'...could it be that the gvt has used the same trick as for its lockdowns ie. anticipating a downturn from a prior reduction in infections?

You still haven't explained either why steeply climbing case numbers would suddenly and spontaneously start to drop, or how the government has managed to time its lockdown restrictions so precisely each time in order to make it look exactly like it was the lockdowns that were causing the fall in cases.

And your thesis right from the start has been that this whole exercise is for ultimate purpose of bringing about permanent lockdown for all time. So if they're somehow cooking the books to make it look as if lockdowns lead to a fall in transmission, why on earth would they arrange it so that lifting all restrictions achieves the same thing? Surely they should now be frightening us by making us think that removing restrictions causes a huge acceleration in transmission?

Strikes me as far more likely that transmission is accelerating, but that since "Freedom Day" lots of employers have either stopped testing their employees altogether, or have drastically scaled it back, so a lot of new cases simply aren't being picked up. We'll just have to wait and see what the rates of hospital admissions look like in a week's time.

The only peer-reviewed paper on whether uk lockdowns were late shows infections peaking before lockdowns are implemented.

As far as gvt intentions go, I don't have a thesis so much as theses with a probability distribution.

Right, but you accept that new cases appearing to drop after restrictions are *lifted* and new cases appearing to drop after restrictions are *introduced* are unlikely to both be elements within the same master plan? If your hypothesis, or even a set of related hypotheses, can explain two contradictory phenomena, then it's not really much cop, I would say.

Not to mention the fact that the schools have just finished for summer.

Always wary of wading into this thread

Spent this morning hearing from frontline NHS staff flabbergasted by the weekend’s events in Traf Sq. What in the name of fuck has happened to a human mind to be hurling encouragement that NHS key workers be hung?

There”s hyperbole and then there’s sad little cunts with no other platform than saddling up to the likes of Icke and Corbyn (the other one), echoing cowardice/cower terminology spouted by Tory sad cunt Saj D

Way to go attempting (and failing) to alienate an entire healthcare sector. With great liberty comes great responsibility and there are few responsibilities as significant as the Hippocratic oath

Shame clearly isn’t an emotional setting among some

That really pissed me off in fact - how difficult is it to remember, when you kill someone by dropping them through a trap door with a noose round their neck it is HANGED, why are these incredibly stupid evil troglodytes always so shit at spelling on top of everything else, including being a decent human being? Oh yeah, cos they are incredibly stupid. The answer was in the question.

They're not all stupid, you know. I'm aligned with these cunts, I suppose, but my spelling - well, it's among the best on dissensus/conformus.

That is it. The debate is over. It's actually a really good debating tactic to say "end of story" cos I was just about to raise a couple of minor quibbles with the argument, such as "What about all the people who died from Covid before the jab was invented?" but they anticipated that and defeated that argument before it could even get off the ground. Quite brilliant in fact.
