Mr. Tea

Let's Talk About Ceps
Don't be silly; look at their death rate, the state of their economy, their health system backlog and respect for their citizens' autonomy and intelligence.
Their death rate is exactly what I've looked at. It's far worse than any comparable country, and only lower than ours because they have far lower levels of poverty, inequality and general poor health, plus a far lower population density.

This has been explained to you many times.

'comparable country' = 'cherry-picked country' - and even if we grant that line of argument, their death rate is still better than pretty much every Swedish year before 2010, which is a far, far better outcome than the flawed modelling predicted.

Not at all. The four continental Nordic countries are all far more similar to each other than they are to any other country for any metric relevant to the health outcomes of a pandemic.
The point still stands, that their outcome has been nothing extraordinary set against the last 20 years.

Furthermore, they consider their main error to have been care home management rather than absent lockdowns.

Basically, don't seed the care homes with infected people - you know, the thing our government did because the modelling was wrong.

Texas restaurant throws family out for wearing masks: ‘This is political’

mixed, what do you think of this appalling example of discrimination? I'm guessing you will stand up for the rights of ordinary citizens, the freedom to go about their lives as they see fit. right?
They should have been permitted to wear them but I would have questioned a child wearing a mask as UK guidance doesn't recommend it.

The article is misleadingly selective about the oxygen thing as the British Standards Institute does stipulate a maximum permissible CO2 concentration within masks and consumer masks may not meet the standard. The filtering consideration is also germane as masks offer hugely different filtration %s and viruses are indeed very small.

you've avoided the main point. it's not a medical/science issue, it's a freedom/rights issue.
