Mr. Tea

Let's Talk About Ceps
Pfizer scientists saying natural immunity is better, treatments are being shelved to privilege the vax (which may itself get pulled if independent testing reveals adverse coronary effects), the company is 'evil etc
Saying "natural immunity is best" about a disease that's killed millions of people is like saying "natural wealth is best" in a conversation about poverty.

I've been invited to something where I'd be in an enclosed space (a room about about 25 feet x 20 feet or so) with three other vaxxed people for about three hours. I guess we could all wear masks, but the plan didn't call for it.

Hmmm...probably be safe but not sure if I should do it. Also pretty sure my overly cautious wife would be against it, so that's a factor. We usually wear masks when in stores and have only dined outdoors at restaurants.

Curious to hear what others would do in a similar situation. Are you guys generally back to normal with doing indoor gathering?

I am, been to loads of pubs and also back to work a few days. And I'm now ill with probably not covid but probably flu. So I'd stay away if I were you Leo. But might
be a UK thing only

thx, catelog...plus, I'm an old geezer!

reading recently about how protection from infection with Pfizer vax drops to around 47% after six months (I'm at five) also a factor.

I mean maybe I'm being paranoid, I don't think I've got covid, but the sudden change in temperature here may have done it. Plus I've had a few other changes (got dog, moved house) which have added a bit of extra stress and strain

yeah, probably just worn down by all the stress and stain, as you say.

@Leo Everything depends on volume of people, Covidial situations, with the kids you don’t stop. Not one for clubs so chilled with friends when itineraries allowed over summer, few meals out, too much home schooling to stay on top of. Grim how much life has moved online

Football returning and bikes as per, coming out of summer. I piked flow tests from work, family all had a lurgy last month but not Wuhan Killer Sneeze. Work was testing twice a week now everyday. We’re in the middle of a range of positive tests around us. Mums and kids, two families where neither male partner tested positive. All vaccinated. Inevitable

Schools disruption varies. Pinging regularly, so a whole year group or dept will go off. Not sustainable, there‘s no plan and all the staff are working insane weeks. Stress test will continue as lurgies and flu bite

get tested, easy to book, phone 119 and you’ll have multiple sites within a few miles

thanks, yeah, the situation with kids is different, and difficult.

is indoor masking common or lax over there? I'm just curious if people are, say, generally back to eating indoors at restaurants, spending extended time (a few hours) unmasked indoors with strangers. here, you have to show proof of vax to eat or drink indoors, but like I said the vax effectiveness wanes over time.

No one gives a fuck here anymore Leo, it's basically normally. The government abdicated all responsibility and left it up to us what to do so most people don't bother with masks now, in trains, pubs, shops etc. In my experience anyway.

I've not been asked to show proof of vax status even once and I've been to pubs, nightclubs, on trains, in work etc etc.
