oh yeah, he's in the streets, he goes and buys some flowers for his wife, thinks about her having an affair, all that. so you'll soon be in the pub where he gets into a big argument.

theres definitely loads of ploddy bits. it's all worth it though, past about page 600 is all gold and reaches a crescendo around page 800. everything comes into focus and all the other characters melt away bit so you've just got him.

Telemachus, Nestor, Proteus, Calypso, Oxen of the Sun and Ithaca were the best episodes, imo. Lotus Eaters was the worst and Cyclops, Circe and Eumaeus were a bit of a slog at times.

Force yourself to read 30 pages every day and then reward yourself with a cigarette and piece of cake. You can have a strong coffee after 10 pages.

Telemachus is the beach one, Calypso is the one where he's making breakfast, both those were very good.

And ithaca is that brilliant second to last one. I did also like the last one, Penelope.

I actually hought the brothel one was good as well, that's Circe. With the play script.

Telemachus is the opening, the one in the tower. Proteus is the first beach one, the one with Stephen.

Not sure what any of this is but I'm sure you're right

I've spent most of my life hating it and deliberately spurning it. It's a respectable position.
perhaps that's why my aunt was very glad for me to take it while I was visiting
poor woman might been struggling with the same problem for years until then.

Telemachus is the first episode, "stately plump" etc.
Nestor's the second, the one in the school, "god is a shout in the street", "history is a nightmare... ".
Proteus is the third, Stephen on the beach. "Ineluctable modality of the visible,"
Calypso's the fourth, Bloom's intro.
Oxen's the fourteenth, the one in the maternity ward charting the development of the English language.
Ithaca's the seventeenth, the question and answer one.

Lotus Eaters is the fifth one and so little happens I dunno what else to say.
Cyclops is the twelfth one, in the pub with The Citizen.
Circe's the fifteenth, the massive one in the brothel written like a script.
Eumaeus is the sixteenth with Stephen and Bloom in the cabman place and written in really overdone prose.
