I wouldn't say so. I don't feel Joni is doing that. I am in love with Joni Mitchell, but not fir that reason

like this is so quaint but has so much of a wild west aura to it. can imagine it playing in a grainy american film. hard not to fall for this kind of romanticism. Even I have these tendancies.

Well I'm not disagreeing I'm fully in love I just think she's a very different artist. Literary but not theatrical

A lot of British music was awful until 1991. it's why Americans criticise us after all, until you hear this you're nonplussed, but then you realise they have a point.

yes, exactly. but bart man was right, however what he doesn't get is I hate those kinds of disabled charity kitschy women. they should as @blissblogger says, side with the revolution.

I can't stand that kind of voice which sees everything as a panto. The upper classes, to their credit, have aristocratic disdain and condescension. Which is far more noble in the sense that it stands for something.

kate bush is the personification of what we call 'joke music' in london. how can you not burst out laughing at it. it's so overblown.

It is joke music, of course it is, but I would say the trick is its believed in to the point it becomes quite potent

Glad I don't live in England or listen to the radio or go out and listen to music anymore so this song won't get cheapened from overplay for me, like wuthering heights kind of already has been.

I'm so disconnected from culture that I've not heard this played once anywhere. (Or it isn't being played.)
