Yeah I don’t see a clear value added in some of these cases. It would be one thing if bus schedules were printed and mailed daily to every resident, in which case digitization would be well warranted.

But a single print on a post? And I’m pretty cyberpositive myself.

I know, right? The advantage seems to be that it saves the council the expense of printing out a new timetable a couple of times a year and paying someone to go around to change them over. That's it.

Gibson foretold some bleak shit but he never imagined that.

The Swedish public response continues to baffle me
This shows that they were correctly thought willing enough to accept a social credit system without needing intermediate training steps like lockdown.

Neither were they that far from being a cashless society whereas the UK had to be convinced that cash is 'dirty' by association with the pathogen du jour.

i was toying with idea of dong a sweden thread. i thought it was significant that the guardian published a long article about how the country is in chaos with gun crime figures 10x higher than those in Germany and hundreds of bombings a year and they're thinking maybe this immigration thing isn't all its cracked up to be. the right have been writing those articles for years now but to have the guardian acknowledge it is a different thing a,together.

because sweden represents, particularly for americans, both the extreme end of liberal attitudes and the welfare state and also the pure unsullied nordic tribe, the blonde virgins ravaged by the swarthy invader

Well Denmark has its own thread, so it's only fair.

Apparently over a quarter of people in Sweden were either born abroad or have two parents who were born abroad, and that rises to a third if people with one foreign-born parent are included. Which is a pretty phenomenal demographic change in a couple of generations.

You just know he's got a special cabinet, that says BREAK GLASS IN CASE OF EMERGENCY on the front, stuffed full of graphs and articles about IQ, that he's been saving up against the day when it would be required.

I wonder if the indigenous Swedes are teaching the incomers how to write cracking pop tunes - Sweden's most important export to the world.
