Limmy

Enjoying this conception of Limmy the brave luka. Like I was saying with his integrity, courage of convictions.

He’s actually quite an empathetic person that also has sociopathic tendencies. Seems to be quite kind, but with all these cruel fantasies. He seems to enjoy these elements together, even his suicidal tendencies he honours as part of his odd darkly matter-of-fact logic

He’s not a career comedian. Career comedians are all cunts. He’s a weirdo web designer and animator who liked making shite low budget videos, then podcasts, then a show. Brought a cult audience along with him, disdainfully, welcomes their hatred, engages with us.

If you don’t like him yet you bed to watch more videos til something clicks and then you’re in, then you can start to become a better person.

Wasn't very good. Only laughed a few times. There were some clever ideas in it but it was sort of flat.

I liked the expressions he was doing in the teabag bit. Him making it himself didn't seem to add much to it.

What it feels like, having watched his Twitch stuff etc. is a diluted form of stuff he's done online. And part of the magic of that stuff is it at least feels spontaneous. This felt stilted.

I will say that it happening to come out at this time when everyone is quarantined made it somewhat more uncanny than it would have been. We're all stuck on our own, talking to ourselves.

Yeah the teabag reaction bits were funny and that did connect with the boredom of isolation but the whole thing felt thin and maybe rushed. I winder was it commissioned quickly because of lockdown.

TV isn’t his format, same with stage shows, they’re just necessities if you want to make money or reach a certain audience

Nah he's been talking about it for ages, long before the crisis.

I think it works better just watching individual bits on youtube or whatever, as a whole show it feels too much like a regular sketch comedy even if most of the constituent parts are so much better.

I quite admire his willingness to feature stuff that isn't that funny - either to pay it off later or never to pay it off, just for it to be peculiar, and to lay there - peculiar.

OTOH there's stuff that I think is supposed to be funny but that just doesn't hit the mark.
