Nice. That's another arrow in the quill of Detroit, the sheer musicality.

Moodymann, Amp Fiddler, Paul Randolph, Javonntte and on and on. Those guys live and breathe it

There’s a Detroit Beatdown lp which came with a remix follow up, then In the Dark but you can track beatdown across names and labels prior to any of the above. Worthy of inclusion, sounds a bit like Mouth on MFF/Classic

I like the flip of the FXHE ep you posted, different again

Was this close to posting this one on the last page but wanted a few more names on there

First set to include Freeki MF, which is a bonafide JAM (think Mike C has a tune of the same name-ish)

A bassline for the ages

Kenny doesn't fuck about. That self titled album came out the same year as D'Angelo's Black Messiah and was 10x stronger if you ask me. Keeping the electronic soul nuum flowing but still fresh and Detroity and moody as owt.

Community. 313 is a powerhouse. Can only imagine the jam sessions. Healthy competition. Taking your demos over to each others place for a few beers and a smoke or whatevs
