the vocals fucking hilarious, but the instrumental is stunning. the sound of worlds being formed in the light of divine power.

No matter what mental contortions I put myself through I could never be able to hear that vocal as remotely comical. There's no way for me to occupy that persepctive. No act of imagination or sympathetic vibration could allow me to share it.

What about everybody else? Sublime or ridiculous or both at the same time?

Let's Talk About Ceps

Definitely prefer this. I recognise this is potentially heresy and I'm ready for the rack.

Yeah, I like the Candi version much better too. Vox on the original are lame (not 'hilarious' exactly, just not very good).

Darned cockwombles.
Wow. First Slick Rick, now Jamie Principle. Is nothing sacred?

Can't get my head around this. I think it's one of the best vocals ever, just beautiful.

It's the one infallible sociopath test. Do you think that is one of the most beautiful vocals ever recorded just say yes or no. Then we will have the answer.

bandz ahoy
I'll say this for the original, a DJ played it at a night in London when I was coming up on multiple pingers and the "I need your love" bit when the bass is throbbing and rising gave me massive spine chills. I was also moved and elated by the fact that a piece of music that old is still being played all over the world and is a source of collective euphoria and ache.

Here's 3 reasons why Larry Heard should be canonised as a saint:

Patty is famous for liking them. He reckons they are even better than Janet Jackson.

"been caught stealing" isn't the best song I ever heard but it's pretty damn good.

it's memorable, catchy as fuck and there's all that barking.
Ocean Size is their most epic one, I almost posted that instead of Stop. But you can only have one, right?

Actually, fuck that noise. It costs nothing to post here and no-one's gonna stop me, so my all-time favorite song, second to none, is Into The White by the Pixies

I love the barking. who would have thought barking would work in a dancey rock song?
