has anyone been "out" out yet, like to a gig or club night? there's a fe wplaces putting nights on, but you gotta stay in your seat i think. so seems a bit pointless and i've not been tempted yet.

pointless is the word. I went to the pub during the ease of restrictions last year and it was awful. Big group of lads at the table next to us who clearly hadn't been out in forever, never mind up to the city, and they were all absolutely off their faces on cider and cheap gear. Jumping around, no sense of space, touching everyone - stuff that does my head in even without the spread-of-disease factor. Just a really miserable experience. I don't trust people at this stage to not be reckless.

i've been to the pub a few times when it's nice weather and it's been really good, you feel safe, there's lots of space. but sitting inside feels uncomfy to me as well, all the signs everywhere, that people are ignoring. exasperated staff, all that.

went for a gig that was rescheduled multiple times from autumn last year, very good DJ (Djrum) though it was obviously a bar night with no getting up from the tables/dancing/whatever. brilliant music but the worst possible setting.
Also the place had a regular bar night running in parallel in some sort of separated section. felt like they're taking a piss considering I had to wait more than half a year for this.

I don't think I'm going anywhere else until the club restrictions end proper.

only sat outside at restaurants, once on a quiet Sunday afternoon at a bar (outside also). so far, so good, not too nuts. but then again, we haven't done it on a Friday/Saturday night.

Put your Alan Partridge driving gloves on and head for the hills, PF's "The Gold" cranked up, noticing ever more grey in your facial hair as the quiet despair descends and you u-turn back home because the police are manning county boundary checkpoints for lockdown (March 2021)

Now that everything is going back to normal and we're all going to act like covid isn't a thing in a few weeks Ive started to feel nostalgic for the mad days of proper lockdown. Like really mourning those times when you had to eat weird food cos you couldn't get any eggs or pasta, and there was nothing to do at all but you could walk down the centre of a dual carriageway at night cos there were no cars. At the time I hated it and felt as hopeless as I've ever felt but looking back...it was alright really wasnt it? Interesting. A trip.

I remember thinking, at the time of the second lockdown, when basically the whole of London was smoking weed and doing balloons in green spaces, "we will never go back to being in crammed shit chain pubs surrounded by people we hate, queuing for 20 minutes for a round of lager". It felt like a permanent shift in the collective psyche, as if we'd all seen another way.

And yet, here we are

my position is no return from lockdown til all our demands are met

A mate recently moved back to Bermondsey. Something about selling cars and seeing the Greenhouse, affordable options, Spanish restaurants. Ponce. Old-school Millwall and *manoeuvred a way home

*had enough of Nottingham

Range of people being referred for drug abuse is ever widening. Weigh up the amount of people crushing prescriptions first. Script hunting is ripe, high stress. On the illicit side, purity of cocaine is unlike anything I’ve seen after using and working in the drug sector for too long. It sells itself, not from status but wallop. Better still, i.v. it and get a pulse up above 150, then mash a shot of what you think is heroin but really fentanyl and filtered otc codeine. Wash down with 100mg of benzos. Cue nightmare

Benzos are ugly and fascinating, a British favourite and a labyrinth of an illicit market. Something overall about the benzo surge seems sketchy - their all too easy prevalence, the same 3 mixtures, main supply networks being ignored - while picking off low hanging fruit. If you get a mind to ever indulge easy access 10mg blue diazepam even on the mother of comedowns, flush the cunts pronto. Spice was one thing, this shit is on another grid of gross and wedging down is evil

There were reports of loads of fake Xanax being smuggled into the UK a couple of years ago.

Actual alprazolam is more rare than you'd think. You get a range of mixes, research wormhole worth profiling, just different presses and colouring (pinky red and blue or novelty)

The receptors they hit are similar to alcohol's giddy-chilled lopsidedness from larger doses, which is what people are chasing. Midazolam might ring a bell if you've been around end of life care. Whatever happened to jellies? Dementia inducing blobs of fun. Not really. As a youth they were a real gateway to heroin worth taking and you can only joke about the problem to stay sane

There are some aggressively toxic illicit mixes out there plus fentanyl's wackamole contribution, so you could be
