" ... emphasising the original’s latin freestyle pop essence with sizzling hi-hat trills and that ultra vocal hook, but here deployed slower and with a rugged assymetry - more goretex than latex? Quite honestly it’s the best thing we’ve heard from Autechre in ages - properly forward, blunted business with a squashed Gescom vibe that pushes a lot of our buttons all at once... "

See also 100gecs, 100% industry plant. Diabolical. We must return to the darkside, the yang has gone too far and been co-opted by those very elitists were railing against within the nuum wars. A shame there is discontent in the dissensus family.

Autechre‘s new album Properly Forward Blunted Business will help to relaunch Mo’Wax in 2021, James Lavelle announced today. “We’ve left behind the days of Star Wars figures,” he said. “We‘re back in the business of being properly forward, and blunted.”

pc music is basically IDM for poptimists. not a good look lads. Do you want Joey Negro to win?

I don't connect with most of the music from pc music (nor should I, at my advanced age), but it is pretty fucked up sounding for its level of sales and the demo it's targeted at. better for kids listen to this than some indie landfill.

Oh I agree. But IDM (and for that matter) prog rock don't need to prove themselves once a certain period of time has elapsed. A lot of IDM sounds more relevant to young kids than it does me. Skrillex is arguably the idmification of wobble.

at the time of course hardcore, jungle, gabber, trance etc were more popular than IDM. with the exception of trance, the tables have turned though.

I don't like it when autechre do 4hings like this remix, it reminds you that they're normal scallywags from Rochdale and super intelligent beings who live inside astral projections of themselves

The honest truth is that I pissed myself on our honeymoon and it ruined the whole day a bit, my wife had a serious chat with me. I tried limiting at first but it didn't work. So I went for total abstinence, that's what works for me, all or nothing.

She helped for about the first 3 months and after that it's a lot easier, cos you start to feel quite good and can sleep better.

Doing a month is easy, but 3 is very hard.

You have to start finding other activities like sport or whatever.

After 6 months you wonder why you ever drank at all. I would also stay out of pubs, much as I loved the vibe, cos that's where its very tough, especially when people want to drink bully you.

It's getting a bit hard again now, cos I feel like I could control it.

I really wanted a beer just before Christmas when I was hanging out with some alcoholics and I settled for a spliff and a fag, I'm glad I didn't have any booze. Its the worst cos its so subtle.

yes we are like that too. cant be trusted with a single drink. total abstinenece is the only viable path for us i had a year where i had almost total abstinence and not uncoincidetntally it was the best year of my life. its hard though cos all social interaction is drunkeness
