What's going on with Piers Moron? I see people talking about him all over but I dunno why.
Anyway, the guy's record is fucking abysmal, insider trading with the City Slickers column, then fired for printing fake photos of soldiers torturing people in Abu Ghraib.... disappeared for a bit and then resurfaced in America and thinks that somehow it's all forgotten and he's ok. Well guess what, it aint forgotten and you're still a cunt.
Fair enough he's been critical of the government for their fucking round and lying and so on with covid but it's not exactly a difficult thing to be on the right side of... well, fair enough he's been very visible on this cos so many of his peers have been lacking, but he's a crook and a twat in my book.
In general, I don't get how people are so easily able to come back from things. With the Tories over the last few years you have Liam Fox who was taking his "friend" with him on government trips and negotiating deals that benefited them over the country and so he resigned for a bit, sat on the back bench for a while and then just pops up again and stands to be PM. I just don't understand the mentality they have that means they do that and I don't understand the laws and the system that we have that lets up. Sure if it's an error of judgment or a genuine mistake that's one thing, but when they have willfully chosen to put their own interests over ours that's something totally different, he (like Patel) have shown that they don't serve the country despite being elected precisely to just that, there should be no way back at all. At least with Moron he was working for one private company and then another, I guess they can take a gamble on him if they like - but with the government you should be done and dusted.
Anyway, to summarise Piers Morgan - not quite as bad as Liam Fox or Priti Patel, worse than almost anyone else.

I dunno where this belongs but I'm sure Milo has been cancelled so this seems like a good place to discuss the fact that he is now - in his own words - an ex-gay

Oh my bad, from the description below, this must be a totally different guy with the same name
— Milo Yiannopoulos, the gay man whose conservative messaging and willingness to speak the truth sparked riots on university campuses may well trigger more outrage now that he describes himself as “Ex-Gay” and “sodomy free,” and is leading a daily consecration to St. Joseph online.

He's obviously a total wanker, but a part of me does feel a bit sorry for him. That's some weapons-grade self-hatred and internalized homophobia he's got there.

High-grade cancellation action on UK Left Twitter this morning: Novara media under fire for interviewing Peter Singer without asking him why he wants to euthanise disabled people.

It’s been brilliant on Twitter today. Following the Burchill-Sarkar fracas Joe Muggs has been getting the daisy cutter treatment from our very own Thirdform.
i really wish i understood twitter / internet / 21st century / modern life so i could see this

I thought I understood it relatively well but I completely missed that despite following JM. I love reading a good row that I have no need whatsoever to get involved in. It's like watching a footie match when you are totally neutral and can fully enjoy the beautiful game without any of the tension or fear that can overtake you when it's an important game you're invested in.
Instead I can genuinely admire passing moves or moments of sublime skill while wincing at the inevitable crunching tackles, sneaky fouls and those all too common bits where the defender berates the so-called striker for his lack of knowledge on the history of industrial action and his pathetic inability to build a coherent theory justifying it and linking Marx, Aguero and Trip to the Moon (part 2).
