Adam Curtis has also been linked with Furedi.
Really? That's disappointing - although, now you say it, perhaps not totally surprising, given that "the liberal West sowing the seeds of its own destruction" has been his master theme since forever.

The motif of elite/celebrity organised paedophilia is also an extremely powerful attractor in this space - the ultimate sin against nature, against the fundamental human bonds which reproduce society, protect the vulnerable etc

I mean they actually are all nonces, but. It still functions as a sort of blood-libel.

In a vague paranoid this thing is a bit like this other thing way. I doubt Curtis has any politics per se.

He is drawn to right wing stuff in the same way Craner is. It seems sexier, glossier, more ambitious, lurid and venal. No true aesthete is going to feel anything but an instinctive horror of the left, even when their morals and emotions align them with it.

In fact it says a lot for your love of Corbyn - dedicated aesthete that you are - that you're able to overlook his secondary-modern-geography-teacher-from-1978 aesthetic.

also Marx and Art are mutually exclusive. You have artists, like Prynne, who profess some vague or heretical alleigiance to Marx but at root the two things are opposed.

artists sympathies are usually with 'the people' the poor, innocent children with big round eyes, chimney sweeps, peasants, factory workers, prostitutes and in that way are left wing although they also can't help relating to men whos ambitions match their own, like Napoleon for instance.

The things about political aesthetics is, have you seen the right-wing lately? They're not dashingly charismatic, intellectually brilliant, scintillating wordsmiths swishing around in velvet cloaks looking like they have better sex - with each other, all the time - than the rest of us can even dream of. Something has clearly gone quite wrong genetically with a lot of them.

Ghislaine Maxwell was a bit of all right, admittedly. Thrillingly evil. A certain moths-to-a-flame allure. Evidently...

I really feel like evil ought to be glamorous. If you do a proper old-school Catholic renewal of baptismal vows, they ask you "do you reject the glamour of evil, and refuse to be mastered by sin", and you should really have to give that a bit of thought before saying "yes".
