at the start of this, unreleased track by E - title unknown

samples and interpolations from Pink Floyd The Wall

i remember this from a tape you sent over in, must have been, 1995. "eh i've got a little black black disc with me tune on it"

i think you must have added it to a tape of highlights? cos i don't remember the later stuff.

I refuse to let Third make out that 1992 was all about nosebleeds.

it was all about prog house as well though. that doesn't make it good does it.

I heard that liquid sweet harmony tune at a rave once and it had the most piss weak bassline i have ever heard. sounds absolutely terrible in a club as well, at least play some merzbow if you are gonna do that.

Someone's got to take the fight to him!

impossiblle. in Cardiff they went straight from Duran Duran to happy hardcore. Craner is an outlier in that regard. he's always dependent on our good graces. There was no jungle in Wales

one of the rudest times, loads of hilarious moments for the sense of humour thread. those harmonic melodies you get around 56 seconds on this set that dungeons and dragons castlevania boss fight atmosphere, unbelievably exciting, just crazy enough to work. its that demon child chucky doll nonsense energy that feels a lot more like psychedelics than acid mothers temple or something.

a lot of its technical stuff like presing quality and bad youtube rips but you get those huge contrasts between horrible tinny compressed drum grooves and weed bass that sounds incredible

so many irritating unnaceptable frequencies with inexplicable mind control powers, submission music. the horns on istanble pull the same brainwashing trick as the crowd noises in the hackney hardcore tune.

Yes Kumar gets it. the best hardcore is euphoric, but in a painfully uncomfortable way. like asmus tietchens in London. very queasy. and that's why it rules. A lot of the weeping piano stuff (excluding the landlord stab here ofc) was a capitulation to the house mainstream, though it didn't know it at the time.

the best pianos are eerie hammers concaving your skull in interplanetary orbit.

but stuff like this is charming and all but its not earth shattering or anything. i rarely listen to it.

well its the balance , best of both worlds isnt it. sugary sweet argos advert pianos with the dastardly tweaky naughty cheeky nutty mental dark side

sacriligeous to say but i get a similar feeling with lots of uk steppers style tunes. those wonky minor harmonic lines that might sound daft on paper but actually turn out to be the voice of god.

If you widen your perspective, shit like progressive just siphoned off the chaff, plenty of good House around. Any Castlemorton veterans here?

Went to uni in Cardiff and this is a myth. People traveled outside of Wales & there were no end of nights to choose from locally too. I appreciate some rib tickling, just don’t make me scan a bunch of old fliers now.....

Thirdform is in his twenties so he makes up his own fantasy histories and interpretations of what went on in the '90s. They bear no relationship with reality but that process, what the young make of the past is all part of how the present is constructed. What materials they choose to salvage reclaim redeem and recontextualise.

Rewrites our past so we can't even trust our own memories. Our autobiographies get retrofitted.

This is the flaw that makes you human. You'd be too perfect otherwise.

Hefty thread. Looking forward to getting stuck into this with red wine later. It’s even better than my exquisite thread now, which had the potential to be a classic but luka had to divert the energy of course
