Anyone who's not into it, you can switch to the 'default' theme if you click 'Dissensus' in the bottom left corner. It's a bit more structured and angular.
i don't like the idea that people have a different design than the one i'm seeing. i want us all to sit in the same living room!

Yes yes yes, Thanks all for the thanks, it's been a bit of a marathon but mostly everything seems to be working ok now... the best part is that we seem to have left the recent gremlins behind on the old software - they were gonna be fiddly to deal with.
Xenforo seems really nice - the process for the migration was impressively untroublesome, which i think bodes well for the future. The saga of how the original vb devs started xf etc is epic, but effectively this software is like vb6 :) i guess
I'm inclined to stick to the simple built-in customisations for now, so we don't mess anything up, but there's lots of scope for more belgian whistles in future

there's a few unanswered questions above - i hope some of the answers are becoming clear - mostly this is all the same as it was on vb, but i think if there are differences they will generally be improvements

Dunno if you wanna take a look at this sufi, but some old thread links are now not working eg

The link won't work. It worked when I manually reconstructed it as follows

Which resolves to

Not such a biggie cos you can figure it out with the info you get, but thought you might wanna know if you didn't already.

I feel like the tags loophole was just that, a feature that got exploited, cos the users found a use hitherto unimagined by the creators. That's very beautiful really

it's just not the ssame is it. now everything is going to have to be conducted in the way that people have always asked me to do so. I knew this would happen as I was on other forums using zenforo. goodbye barbaric cutting era of dissensus, welcome gentlemanly dissensus.

that's not great, i wonder if i switch the "friendly URLs" off, that might sort it out, as the page id is in there ...
sorted it https://xenforo.com/xf2-docs/manual/import-notes-vbulletin/#xenforo-redirects-for-vbulletin
thanks for spotting that one

Thread owner can add tags, but yeah, contributors can't. Version might have something to say.

some look genuine actually, but some are stealthy bots - they should identify themselves

i had some extreme anti-g**fle measures set up at the last place, more from spite than strategy
we banned the shit out of some sort of huawei cdn/botnet a while back that was like 50-80 visitors all the time, but new ones drift by
cf https://www.dissensus.com/index.php?threads/14170/page-7
seems like our new lair isnt so locked down, i expect we can block off this lot too, especially if they start hogging resources
but i dunno whether we should be isolating ourselves from all that? check our gg+*g7;e listing - it is anti-seo https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=dissensus

I think this is a lot better than it was before. All sorts of little things are easier to do. And with the 'default style' it doesn't even look that different to the old dissensus.
