Is the Gambia francophone? Sorry I'm so ignorant. That's interesting, I do get a Continental vibe. That video of the big tune from the other thread, I wasn't sure at first that it was shot in England, til I saw a corner shop. He really doesn't sound English

I like how minimal his beats are. More boom-bap than the 'typical' drill beats.

The videos are also cool.

When he came out with 'Frontline' I think ppl saw him as a rip-off of J Hus.

Isn't it youtube plays that matter the most with drill? Probably tiktok or something might be more significant? Snapchat? I don't think twitter is where its at for drill really

Twitter isn't really a good indicator anymore. 6ix9ine's huge and he's got 700k on there in comparison to 21m on Insta.

I think you need at least a million plays to be taken seriously. It's like on here, you're no one til you've made 38k posts

He has a way with the hooks, that's for sure. It's not really something I associate with drill (not that it's drill, but you know what I mean).

I was really excited about the afroswing/drill thing in London but not sure it ever fulfilled the promise of something like this:

Although Pa Salieu is clearly in that vein — and I've not been keeping up.
