I like driving but I really hate their presence. How every city plan is designed with the central concern of accomodating motor traffic. It's arrogant. Cars are invasive, brutal, noisy. Very few of them are nice looking anymore, they have no trace of human character in the design and a more enlightened aesthete would bark at them like a dog.

What else... they're a symbol of freedom, at least in American mythology, but ironically, once your in them and on the road, your options are extremely constrained. Drive this speed and this direction in laid out trail with others ahead of and behind you.

What do you think of these things?

An insecure rich kid got a this one in 18th birthday present in my high school. Someone found out it had been awarded the gay car of the year and everybody teased about until he stopped driving it.

I like driving round the countryside listening to music. Just jumping in a mate's car and going wherever for the sake of it.

That feeling of being together inside the car, exploring the world. I loved that feeling when I was a kid driving with my family. Especially at night when the world outside was mysterious and full of danger.

My brother's boss went to see a therapist who does some sort of audio-based therapy and who miraculously cured him then they became friends and used to drive around in the guy's sports car. Apparently he had something in his car which jammed speed cameras and police scanners... Weird dude. They also ended up going on holiday together.

The proximity of the spectators to the track always freaks me out. There are people literally diving out of the way at the last minute.
